Punkt 2014: Nils Christian Moe Repstad / Erik Honoré listening session on Saturday 6 September. Nils Christian writes:
For 10 years of collaboration with foremost Jan Bang and Erik Honore, but also many other amazing musicians, in and around Punkt, I have tried to make literary texts and a literary voice become more symbiotic with the element of sound. It’s been like walking a fine and fragile line, understanding bit by bit the balance and sensitivity it requires. And after a live performance in Oslo in 2013, where I released a two volume book, "The theory of the singular", I felt together with Jan and Erik that we had material for a record, based on the live recording and on the foundation of this book. So on 20 September I'm releasing a record on Jazzland/Universal together with Nils Petter Molvær, Jan Bang, Erik Honoré and Eivind Aarset. It comes as a download version and a limited edition cd box, where both volumes of the book translated into English are included, which make this record simply called "The theory of the singular" quite unique.
At one of Punkt’s "listening sessions", Saturday 6 September, you can hear me and Erik Honoré in conversation with Fiona Talkington, speaking about the ten years of collaboration and the upcoming record, which Erik has produced and mixed. You will also hear excerpts of what we have done together over these years, and tracks from the new record. (jtu)
